A Cross Sectional Study to Evaluate Awareness About Hepatitis A & E Among Students in Lahore

Background: The aim and objectives of the study were to determine knowledge, attitude practices among biological non-biological students regarding Hepatitis A virus (HAV) E (HEV). Methods: present was conducted by Department Microbiology, Pakistan kidney & liver institute research center (PKLI RC) at University Veterinary Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, Pakistan. in November, 2019 January, 2020. total 326 respondents (students) participated study. Respondents filled a pre-tested structured questionnaire. variables accessed knowledge diseases including etiology, mode transmission, prevention control measures. Results: Most 81.56% from sciences (B-S) group 51.70% (N-B-S) had awareness about HAV/HEV. Furthermore, 72.06% BS 13.60% NBS transmission spread HAV HEV infection. Only 16.20% B-S aware importance vaccination against While very low prevalence found N-B-S that is only 4.76%. Conclusion: shows significance difference level background. misunderstand hepatitis infections with B C, which suggests there need differences their severity these infections. Awareness campaigns should be make people ways HAV/HEV spreads, its infection preventive measures minimize as well chances acquire
